Basing can’t consolidate his good work as he slips up again! Paris turns up the heat with some powerful groundstrokes to get back to a break ahead.

Paris has the chance to serve for the set, but he faces two break points. At 15-40 he plays a textbook serve and volley, before smashing an ace straight down the line to get to deuce. Basing doesn’t lie down however and a Paris volley into the net means he is level!
12:10 BASING WINS FIRST SET TIEBREAK 6-7 (3-7)
Basing has fought back into this set and forces a tiebreak. He gets himself into a 3 point lead and keeps it to earn a set point. He nails it at the first time of asking as Paris pulls a forehand wide. Max Basing leads on court 1!

Paris is struggling with a back problem, but Max Basing isn’t letting up, he breaks serve with some great backhands. Paris looks in pain and he decides to retire from this match, giving Basing all 3 points. A great shame for Paris but he still remains in the competition for now.
