Court 1: Millie Bissett vs Jasmine Conway

16-year-old Jasmine Conway impressed on debut by getting through a tough group on her way to the quarter finals. What an achievement it would be to progress further here! Millie Bissett stands in her way on court 1!

A great start from Conway as she breaks the serve of Bissett early in this one to race into a lead. She has been so solid throughout this week, you wouldn’t bet against her to keep the form going!

12:10 CONWAY HOLDS 2-5

After a mammoth game, lasting as long as the entire match so far, Conway finally manages to hold serve. She stretches out in front!

Such disappointment for Conway! After the mammoth hold, her next service game she finds herself at 0-40. She can defend one break point but not the next as Bissett breaks to get her back into the set!

12:37 TIEBREAK TIME! 6-6

Both players hold for the rest of the set, taking us into a tiebreak in the first set!

This game has been so intense! Bissett and Conway are matching each other shot for shot. Bissett wins the point at 5-5 to get herself a set point. She has volleyed expertly all week and it’s a text book deep volley that seals the set!

13:13 BISSETT BREAKS BACK 6-7 3-3

Back level in the second set! Millie Bissett manages to get to break point and she converts with a confident winner to equalise.

13:21 CONWAY BREAKS SERVE 6-7, 5-3

Bissett puts a simple slice backhand well wide to give Conway the opportunity to serve for the second set and put us into a third set tiebreaker!

13:32 6-7, 5-4

This remarkable game continues to produce pulsating tennis. Conway is able to defend two break points while serving for the set, but when she gets a set point herself she can’t convert! Another break point defended! Bissett puts a forehand in the net and we are back to deuce! After Conway gets ahead again a massive Bissett forehand takes us back to deuce again!! Remarkable stuff!

It wasn’t easy but Conway wins the second set! Her 4th set point is converted and sets up what should be a brilliant third set tiebreak to decide the place in the semi-final!

13:44  BISSETT WINS THE MATCH 6-7, 6-4, 2-10

The start of the tiebreak isn’t as close as the rest of the match so far… Bissett manages to get 5 points ahead at 7-2 and only needs 3 points to reach the semi-finals. She eases her way to 9-2 and has 7 match points here. Only 1 was needed! A brilliant match ends with Bissett through to the semi-final! A great display from Conway too though.
